DIY Y-Cable
|
Most subwoofer amps have stereo line-in connections, which are added together within the amp. It is usually sufficient to drive just one input, but if your source is a little low, you can use a Y-cable to effectively lift your signal by 3dB This is often the case if you don't have an AV amp, taking your signal directly from the DVD player You can buy pre-made Y-cables, and you can pay a lot or a little for them. If you're like me, you have a draw full of stereo RCA leads so why not make your own DIY Y-Cable Cut both plugs off one end of the lead, twist together and solder on a new female RCA plug. Presto! You just saved about 10 bucks - enough for a round of drinks eh! |
